Case Management Program
In November, 2010, we began taking volunteer case managers into the Indiana Women's Prison to provide case management services to the pregnant or recently-delivered incarcerated mothers. Since it's inception, the Case Management Program has worked with approximately 65 offenders, representing 65 different families!! We serve as advocates on the outside for these families by providing re-entry assistance and referral information to help them be a success upon their release. We want to reduce the recidivism (rate of return to prison) of these Moms, especially for the children's sake!
Grant from the Women's Fund of Central Indiana
In October, 2010, Angel's Wings received a grant to serve as the fiscal agent for a $25K grant from the Women's Fund of Central Indiana. This grant was to be used for educational programs and supplies for the women and infants involved in the Wee Ones Nursery and Family Preservation Program at the Indiana Women's Prison. We are nearing the end of this grant and currently seeking additional funding for those supplies. This was a one-year grant and has provided supplies and equipment for the infants who are able to live with their mothers inside the prison. It will also provide some child development training for the new mothers. This is an awesome opportunity and we are happy to help! Since Angel's Wings is 100% volunteer-driven, this grant will be used to support programs at IWP!

Kelli's Kloset - In-Prison Baby Showers
Through our program Kelli's Kloset, Angel's Wings volunteers have been conducting in-prison baby showers at the Indiana Women's Prison since January, 2005. We have reached over 525 families through this program, providing much-needed infant supplies and bonding time!
Research Projects
Through a partnership with the Community Research Center at the University of Indianapolis, Dr. Kevin Whiteacre is leading several research projects. He and his students are studying issues related to recidivism (rate of return) of the offenders who have participated in the prison's Wee Ones Nursery, Family Preservation Program, and Angel's Wings programs. This is an exciting partnership and we are hoping to gain some valuable data!!

Kelli’s Kloset - Conducting In-Prison Baby Showers for over SIX Years now!!
Angel's Wings currently conducts THREE in-prison baby showers every year. Since 2005, there have been approximately 525 families served with this program! The showers are scheduled for January, May, and September. The total cost to sponsor a baby shower is approximately $1200, but we accept all donations. This is an important event for the Family Preservation Center at the Indiana Women's Prison. It provides some much-needed supplies for these infants and their caregivers.
